What's Happening At School
WINTER
There have been a LOT of happenings going on at school lately. We find this time of the year is always the busiest, what with pre-registration, holidays, and field trips.
Our preschool classes just had their in-classroom Teddy Bear Day. (There is NO end to our teachers' imaginations!) Coming up is a field trip to the Post Office to mail family valentines, a Hot Chocolate Day, where we will learn about everybody's faorite foods, and a field trip to the Dentist! Also, basic skill reviews take place during the winter months. We truly have some wonderful preschool classes!
Both Classes have spent time working with the alphabet puppets Inky Inchworm (I), Jolly Jogger (J), and Kicky Kangaroo (K), continued with Loony Lion (L), Merry Mouse (M), and we just met Noisy Newt (N)!
The Pre-Kindergarten students are busy learning about the winter season while stengthening their basic skills. They will see a Children's Theater live performance, celebrate and Pajama Day, and explore a Weather unit, a Dinosaurs unit, and a Space unit. They do experiments with crystals and ice, along with a host of other fun activities, including making bird feeders for school and to take home. Our teachers are the greatest!
SPRING
The Pre-Kindergartners will be watching caterpillars spin cocoons and turn into butterflies. The bird feeders will be outside attracting the first signs of spring. Field trips will include roller skating, even a trip to the Woodland Park Zoo to visit all the animals we have learned about in our Zoo Unit.!
The Preschoolers will enjoy a Teddy Bear Day, a Hat Day, and a unit on Mice (where we all taste different cheeses), and a special trip to the Forest Park Petting Zoo it is always very rewarding to see the children's growth and development throughout the school year.
Both programs will enjoy the final alphabet letter puppets as the school year comes to a close. We will top off the year with graduation programs and our annual end the the year school parties.
SUMMER
The Summer School Program will start registering during the 2nd week of April. The classes will run for three weeks from the last 2 weeks of June through the end of July on Tuesday, and Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 3:00 The curriculum changes from year to year so be sure to check with us to see what great things we have planned for this summer. As usual we limit the class size to twenty students and two teachers. |
