Class Schedule

Pre-Kindergarten (4-5 years old):
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 8:30-11:30
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 9:00-12:00
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 12:30-3:30

Preschool (3-4 years old):
Thursday/Friday 9:00-12:00
Thursday/Friday 9:15-12:15

Kindergarten (5-6 years old):
Monday through Friday 1:00-4:00


Typical School Day

Welcome: Children are greeted individually as they enter the classroom.

Circle Time: Musical activities with singing and band instruments, creative dramatics skits, pantomimes, finger plays, and flannel board stories; group games, fun learning activites involving pre-reading and pre-math skills, alphabet puppets, counting, weather, calendar, and phonics activities.

Learning Center and Art Time: Children participate in two to three different projects and/or play and learn at the different Learning Ceters set up in the room: Science Center, Library Center, Dress-up/Kitchen Center, Puppet Center, Math Center, Lego Center, Block Center, Puzzle Center, Special Theme Centers, Easel Paint Center, Art Center, Writing Center and an Alphabet Center.

Theme Discussion: Some theme examples throughout the year include: Special Me, Safety, To Your Health, Fall Harvest, Changing Colors, Spiders and Bats (Halloween), This Land is Your Land (Thanksgiving), Holidays Around the World, Winter Wonderland, Rainbows and Weather, Teddy Bear Picnic, Community Helpers, Transportations, Dinosaurs, Space, Nursery Rhymes, Zoo and Baby Animals, Spring Gardening, Birds, Pancake Day, Western Days, Marine Sea Life, Frogs, Bees and Butterflies, Recycling, Skills Reviews.

Good-byes and Announcements: "Special Helper", Sharing and Storytime. Every day the teachers greet parents by telling them exactly what their children did that day.
